What Is Stone Milling?
Stone milling is an old world process where the grain is sheared into flour by rotating stones. This low-temperature process preserves the integrity and nutrition of the whole grain. Even our more finely sifted flours have part of the whole grain in them. Our flours are completely untreated, so no bleach, bromate or enrichments are added. Instead, you will experience enhanced flavor and wholesome nutrition. Because all the natural oils in the grain is preserved, our products have a shelf life of one year, or longer if you store them in your fridge or freezer.
WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE RECOMMENDATION?
Most of our products are shelf stable for up to one year after it’s milled and packaged.
“Best by” dates are printed on each product.
To extend the life of your product and keep it at peak freshness, we recommend storing it in your fridge or freezer to preserve its natural oils.

Our heritage grains are not certified organic but they are grown using natural farming methods. We do not use chemical fertilizers, pesticides or glyphosate. We use a mild herbicide on the field borders before our wheat reaches the grassy stage. But we never spray the wheat berries themselves with anything whatsoever.
