The King of Rye

Sangaste Rye is a limited release. Don't let this one get away.

Meet the King of Rye in its most elemental form: Sangaste Rye Berries. With flavor that is dense and full of character, where most rye hums a single note, Sangaste is the whole symphony.

Mill it into flour for sourdough, or simmer the berries and let them shine in salads, grain bowls, or as a hearty foundation for seasonal sides. Chewy, with a subtle nuttiness, these berries carry that same layered, storied character to your table in whatever form your kitchen is craving.

Named after an Estonian village where it was first brought to life, Sangaste built its reputation the old-fashioned way: a Gold Medal at the 1889 World's Fair in Paris. Now this once-endangered grain is finding its way back to modern kitchens, and every time you cook with it, you're helping write its next chapter.

Our crop was grown in Finland by farmers rooted in regenerative practices and a genuine love of rye. Getting it to your door wasn't simple. Sourcing, securing, and shipping a heritage grain across the Atlantic takes real commitment, especially in today's climate. But the moment we tasted it, we knew it was worth it.
