What You'll Need
1 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons Instant Dry Yeast
3/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
3 Cups Artisan Bread Flour - OR - White Sonora All Purpose Flour
Directions
-
In a large bowl, stir all the ingredients together until the dough forms a shaggy mass. Cover and let the flour absorb the moisture for 20-30 minutes.
-
After resting, turn dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth, dusting the dough with flour to prevent it from sticking to your hands. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and turn to coat. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, 45 minutes to 1 hour.
-
Turn the dough out onto a lighted floured surface and gently fold over on itself several times. Shape into a loaf and place the loaf seam-side-down in a 9-inch loaf pan, cover and let rise for another 45 minutes to 1 hour. During this time, pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown (hint: You can probe your bread with an instant read thermometer to check for doneness. Bread is fully baked at 190 degrees Fahrenheit.) Remove from oven, flip the bread onto cooling rack. Let cool for 1 hour before slicing.
-
Slice and fill with your family’s favorite sandwich fixings! Enjoy!
