Purple Barley Pancake Mix is a seasonal Spring product.   

For this special pancake mix, we blend our Purple Barley flour with White Sonora flour to make purple pancakes! These pancakes offer a deep, earthy flavor and delectable texture, not to mention a healthy dose of antioxidants. The simple “just add water & butter” pancake mix means you can go from box to breakfast in a matter of minutes.

What You'll Need


1 cup Purple Barley Pancake Mix

1 cup water

1 tablespoon melted butter (or oil of your choice)



  1. Whisk 1 cup Purple Barley Pancake Mix, water and butter (or oil of your choice) together.
  2. Pour 1/4 cup batter at a time into a hot frying pan.
  3. When the pancakes are full of bubbles on the top, flip them over and cook for one more minute or until golden.
  4. Place the finished pancakes on a warm plate in a 200 F oven until you have enough to serve.
  5. Top with butter and maple syrup, or any fresh fruit.

To Make Waffles

  1. Whip 1 egg white to form soft peaks then gently fold into the pancake batter, careful not to over mix.
  2. Spoon 1/4 cup of batter into preheated waffle iron. Cook until golden and crisp.

Makes 6-8 4-inch pancakes.
