Tried and True Pasta Dough

We always say making homemade pasta is like playing with Play Doh, only you get to eat your creations! Even if you've never made homemade pasta before, grab a box of our Pasta Flour and give it a try.

What You'll Need

2 1/3 cups Hayden Flour Mills Pasta Flour

3 large eggs

3 tablespoons water

Directions

  1. Mound pasta flour in the middle of a large cutting board. Form a small indentation in the middle of the flour - it should look like a volcano.

  2. Place the eggs and water into this indentation. With a fork, slowly incorporate the egg and water into the flour. When the dough starts to form a ball start kneading the dough, using the heel of your hand, until it is smooth.

  3. Cover dough in plastic wrap and allow the dough to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. At this point you can roll the dough into any shape you like.

  4. To form noodles, cut the dough into fourths. Flour a large work area and use a floured rolling pin to roll the dough until it is the thickness of a dime. Use knife to cut the dough into ¼ inch wide strips.

  5. To cook, add noodles to a pot of salted boiling water and cook for 4-8 minutes or until Al Dente.

Serves 4-6.
